Tuesday, October 20 – The STLWineGirl & Provisions Market Wine Dinner Pairings are becoming more and more frequent and yet still selling out each time! This is no doubt in part because these dinners are amazing deals – 5 courses and 5 wine pairings for only $30! This Tuesday’s wine dinner will celebrate all things local. Along with Missouri wines, you’ll find Missouri rainbow trout and delicious gooey butter cake. Even provel will rear its head in a chicken spedini dish. Tuesday, October 20 – It’s no gourmet cuisine and wine dinner, but it is cheap – Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is celebrating their 68th Anniversary this Tuesday and to give back to their customers, they are offering $1 Big Barbecue sandwiches from 11 am – 2 pm (limit 2 per customer). And don’t forget to grab dessert – their vanilla soft serve cones are always free!
Tuesday, October 20 – For those of you readers on the other side of the river (or those willing to make the hike over to Edwardsville), Erato on Main will be welcoming Emiliano Morando of Vinchio Vaglio-Serra Winery, a winery in the Piedmont region of Italy, for a special wine tasting event. From 5 – 7 pm, sample a variety of the winery’s most notable wines. The event is open to the public and free of charge. Special discounted prices on the wines sampled will be available for purchase during the tasting. And be sure to stay for dinner afterwards!
Tuesday, October 20 – The International Tap House in Chesterfield will be hosting an Arcadia Ales Brewery night Tuesday evening from 7 – 9 pm. Rich Suarez from Arcadia will be on hand offering samples of the extensive Arcadia draught selection along with complimentary glassware (while supplies last). If you’re out in West County be sure to stop in (and stop in early) for this great freebie event.
Wednesday, October 21 – Taste of Creve Coeur will be held this Wednesday from 5 pm – 9 pm (in front of City Place 3 in the parking lot). Sample food favorites from local restaurants while enjoying live music and cocktails. Admission is free but food and beverages will cost you. This is a cash only event (no credit cards) so be sure to stop by the ATM before heading over.
Wednesday, October 21 – This week’s Cocktails for a Cause will take place at Mango’s new location at 1101 Lucas Ave from 6 – 8 pm. Your $10 donation will benefit St. Patrick’s Center and in return, you’ll receive complimentary Miller Lite, MGD6 and Blue Moon.
Wednesday, October 21 – Racanelli’s Cucina is presenting their inaugural Bud Light Honey Wheat Dance Party from 9 pm – 1 am this Wednesday. For $4, you’ll receive your first pint, plus a free tasting glass. After that, additional refills are $3. There will also be Launch Party Student Specials including 99¢ Sliders (meatball, veggie, hamburger), 49¢ Wings (Hot, Honey BBQ, Teriyaki), $6 Pizza, $4 Long Islands, $5 Red Bull Vodkas and $10 Domestic Buckets (5 Beers). This deal gets a little better if you’re lady, however, because ladies drink FREE from 10 pm – midnight.
Wednesday, October 21 – Mangia Italiano is hosting an Autumn Beer Dinner featuring a St. Louis staple – Schlafly beer. Dinner will begin at 7 pm and will include SIX courses and six different varieties of Schlafly beer. Dine on succulent duck breast, lamb tortelloni, house smoked trout, and more. Thursday, October 22 – The Melting Pot is hosting their third annual Autumn Wine Tasting event this Thursday from 5 – 7 pm. Sample six hand selected wines, one “Wild Card” wine, and their cheese and chocolate fondues. Cost is $15 per person. Space is limited to only 30 people and reservations are required so call (314)725-4141 before this event is sold out.
Saturday, October 24 – The Macklind Fall Food Fest will be held this Saturday from 11 am – 8 pm at the Wedge on Hampton. Enjoy BBQ, beer, live music, raffles and more – including plenty of fun events for the kids like bobbing for apples and decorating! And be sure to stop in between 12 and 3:30 pm for the Chili & Cornbread Cook-off!
Saturday, October 24 – Halloween is just around the corner and The Stable is getting into the spirit with their 2009 Monsters of Beer Festival, being held this Saturday from 1 – 4 pm. Purchase a $25 dollar ticket and receive a commemorative glass, plus the ability to taste fifteen different 4 oz pours of some monster beers — okay so it’s not much of a deal – that’s essentially 5 beers for $5, but the beer line-up does look pretty good. If you’re feeling competitive, enter the Das Boot Competition – get six of your closest friends, form a team and try your luck at beating the infamous boot. Food will be available for purchase throughout the event. Only 175 tickets are available for this event, so be sure to purchase them as soon as possible from The Stable or the Rotten Apple.
Sunday, October 25 – I love burgers so this event is right up my alley. Alive Magazine is searching for the best burger St. Louis has to offer by hosting a Top Chef Burger competition this Sunday from 12 – 4 pm at the DeBaliviere sales center on Pershing Avenue in the CWE. Six St. Louis chefs (Eric Kelly (Scape), Eric Brenner (Moxy) , David Molina (BARcelona), Josh Galliano (Monarch), Chris Lee (Cafe Ventana) and John Griffiths (El Borracho)) will be cooking up all kinds of mini burgers – and it’s up to you to vote for your favorite. Admission includes one drink ticket for a Sam Adams beer, wine tasting, mini burgers from each of the top chefs and music by DJ Mahf and Fresh Heir. Cost is $10.84 per person if purchased in advance online or $15 at the door.
Sunday, October 25 – October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and for many, this is an issue and disease that hits very close to home. For those interested in helping out a great cause, McGurk’s Irish Pub is hosting a fundraiser to help a co-worker who has recently been diagnosed with this disease. Thirty dollars will get you in the door will pay for all of your drinks (open bar!). Food will be available for purchase and proceeds will be donated to the cause. There will be also be auctions, raffles and live music featuring Joe Stickley, Shawn Canon, and the Darrells. Doors open at 1 pm.
