Monday, May 17Ernesto’s Winebar and Salume Beddu will be hosting a pig roast this Monday at Benton Park Restaurant at 7 pm. The menu features bruschetta with fava bean purée, guanciale and mint; a salad made with shaved beets, radishes and fennel, with Pecorino and grapefruit vinaigrette; and porchetta alla Salume Beddu served with roasted potatoes, Italian sauerkraut and sotto aceto. Cost is $40 per person (excluding tax, gratuity and drinks).

Monday, May 17Annie Gunn’s will be welcoming Fritz Maytag, James Beard Foundation 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and owner of Anchor Brewing Company and York Creek Vineyards in California on Monday, May 17th. Enjoy five courses and a variety of wine and beer pairings from Maytag’s brewery and vineyard. The Full Menu and wine pairings can be viewed on the Events Page. Cost is $150 per person. Tuesday, May 18 – Forget Mimosas and Bloody Marys, Remy’s will be introducing a new “Bellini Bar” this summer for a different twist on a boozy brunch. If you’re not familiar with this refreshing combination of sparkling wine and fruit juices, come out for their Tuesday Tasting on May 18th from 6:30 – 8 pm and try 3 of their new bellinis, each paired with a brunch specialty. Tuesday, May 18Robust Wine Bar will be holding a Wines of Spain Wine Tasting this Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm. Join Certified Sommelier and Owner Stanley Browne for a taste of some of Spain’s best wines.
The wine line-up for the evening includes: 2005 Marques de Gelida Cava, 2009 Vina Mayor Verdejo, 2007 Muga Blanco, 2007 Vale do Bomfim Douro Red, 2006 Herdad Ugarte Crianza and 2007 Onix Classic Priorat. Cost is $15 per person and includes light tasting plates. To RSVP call (314) 963-0033.

Wednesday, May 19The Riverfront Times will be hosting their monthly Cocktails for a Cause at Chuy Arzola’s on Wednesday, May 19th from 6 to 8 pm. A $10 Donation to Campus Kitchens Project, an organization which brings student-powered hunger relief to communities around the nation, will net you plenty of complimentary cocktails. Stop by and drink for a great cause!

Wednesday, May 19 – Come down to Mike Duffy’s, Jefferson Grill, and PJ’s Tavern for the Jefferson Avenue Street Party in Downtown Kirkwood. These street parties will take place every 2nd Wednesday of the month (being held the third week this month due to rain delay last week) from 6 – 9 pm and will include live bands, beer and margaritas and plenty of fun.

Friday, May 21Absolutli Goosed will be holding a Sex and the City 2 Premiere Party beginning 7pm this Friday. The martini bar will be partnering with Dress for Success for handbag, shoe and jewelry donations the night of the event. All who donate will get a coupon for a “buy one, get one” drink special to use on their next visit. In addition, there will be Sex and the City Giveaways and all cosmos will be only $6 all night long!

Saturday, May 22The Taste of Maplewood Street Festival will be held on May 22nd from noon to 9 pm as Sutton Boulevard is transformed into a pedestrian open market with plenty of food to dine on and entertainment. Enjoy music from Jive & Wail and Honeyvox while you sample some of Maplewood’s finest cuisine. Participating restaurants include: Acero, Schlafly, The Red Lion, Boogaloo, Monarch, Maravelle Catering, The Maya Cafe, Jive & Wail, The Post Sports Bar and Grill and Las Palmas. Other participants include Foundation Grounds, Stone Spiral, The TigerLily, Airedale Antics and more!

Saturday, May 22 – If you missed out on Microfest, you don’t have to wait until the Heritage Festival to get your fill of festival beer. On Saturday, May 22nd from noon to 5 pm, Missouri breweries and Microbreweries will be sampling some of their finest beers at this year’s Beer & Brats Festival at Westport Plaza in the West Parking Lot. Participating breweries include Amalgamated Brewing Co. at the Stable, Anheuser Busch, Augusta Brewery, Boulevard Brewing Co., Buffalo Brewing Co, Cathedral Square Brewery, Charleville Brewing Co, Crown Valley Brewing & Distilling, Griesedieck Brothers Brewing Co, Highlands Brewing Co, Morgan Street Brewery, O’Fallon Brewery, Square One Brewery and our personal favorite, Schlafly Brewery. Cost is $20 in advance or at the door and includes a commemorative beer mug, all beer sampling and live entertainment. Food will be available for an additional cost from Dierdorf & Harts, Trainwreck Saloon and Westport Pizza Co.

Saturday, May 22 – Hopefully the sun and warm weather will make a big return this Saturday for Inside STL’s big Sand Volleyball Tournament And Bikini Contest at Wave Taco. The tournament will begin at 11 am and will go until around 5 p.m. If interested in signing up, visit www.stlvolleyball.com. There will also be a bikini contest at 4 pm which will feature both insideSTL.com Girls Next Door and ladies who have not partaken in the contest. The prize will be $500. In addition, enjoy an All You Can Eat Buffet from 1 – 3 pm and All You Can Drink from 11 am – 5 pm, plus $2 bombs all day. Cost is $35 if you are playing and $30 for the all inclusive package (all you can eat and drink).

Saturday, May 22Frostbite Gourmet Ice Cream, St. Louis’ small batch gourmet ice cream maker, is introducing Six Row Porter Ice Cream! Join Six Row Brewing Company for a special tasting party, featuring Six Row Porter in draught and ice cream form. In addition, Chauvin Coffee and Zettie’s Confections will also be represented at the tasting party. The event will be held on the rooftop of the Eclipse Restaurant at the Moonrise Hotel in the University City Loop from 5-7 PM.

Sunday, May 23rd – Gather ’round the TVs at Mosaic and watch the much anticipated (and speculated upon) Lost series finale. Enjoy a special Lost food and drink menu (available here), group discounts and more peanut butter and Ranch dressing (real or imaginary) than you can handle. Come in costume! Bring your own beach chair for the ultimate in island luxury and prime seating! The Hatch blows open at 5:30 and at 6:00pm Lost will appear on 5 big screen TVs. Lost: The Final Journey starts at 6, “The End” begins at 8:00. The restaurant will be sectioning off and quieting the Lounge for all you serious Lost viewers.If you’re coming with a party of 6 or more, be sure to let them know and you will receive 10% off your purchases all night!

Sunday, May 23Kakao Chocolates will be joining Ernesto’s Wine Bar to pair award winning with chocolates with hand selected wines. Brian Pelletier from Kakao and Ernesto’s staff will be on hand to educate you on the delicious characteristics of pairing two of the world’s best pairings – chocolate and wine.
