I'm sorry to hear that this blog is coming to an end--I only just found you. Did you ever resolve the Adsense income residual tax kerfuffle? That's how I found you!

Susan - these will probably be my last two posts. Thought the blog needed a closing post or two. Best of luck with your site!

Kristin - I'm from Connecticut originally and they STILL have blue laws. No beer/liquor on Sunday at all. PA used to have blue laws as well but I think most liquor stores are open on Sundays now.

As a native St. Louisan, I'm pretty sure that booze had its own aisle in the grocery store so that they could cordon it off on Sunday. We had blue laws throughout my childhood that forbade the sale of beer on Sundays before noon, so that aisle would literally be blocked off so that you couldn't stroll through it and "accidentally" pick up a case. Buying liquor at a liquor store? What a weird idea. Come to think of it, up to around 2002 you could actually buy liquor at Walgreen's . They carried a nice selection, too.

As for the beer festivals, don't forget Strassenfest! Or was that before your time? I believe it was the only festival that sold beer by the bucket. Of course, I was too young to drink it then. And now it's over!

Welcome back! My husband and I miss your site, and now that I've started FrugaLouis I'm bummed that I can't refer my readers to you! What are your plans for MealDealSTL? I'm guessing if you're in Philly, then it's pretty much a thing of the past...?

I work RIGHT next to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church...trust me their food will not disappoint! If you're in Town and Country on Friday, at least stop for the food. Thanks Karin, I know where I'm eating this Friday:)
